Johnnies Creek

For the advanced to expert whitewater paddler, Johnnies may be the finest class IV+ creek in Alabama. It contains tightly spaced, back-to-back, drop/pool class IV rapids with one class V. Multiple runs per day are possible. Johnnies is so well regarded in the Southeast U.S. whitewater community that it has been featured in more than one paddling video. Johnnies only runs after significant rains in the winter and spring, or after very heavy rains at other times of the year. Since it is a tributary of the Little River, other sections of quality whitewater in the area are often running if Johnnies isn't.
