Columbiana

Twent-five miles east of Birmingham is Columbiana, a charming small town rich in Southern history and hospitality. A trip here would not be complete without a tour of the Old Shelby County Courthouse, which was built in 1854, and the Karl C. Harrison Museum of George Washington, which houses a fine collection of heirlooms from America’s First Family.

    One of the larger privately owned Washington collections in America. Portraits, letters, china, silver from Martha's direct descendant. Also Robert E. Lee family artifacts.

  • Magnolia Meadows

    Magnolia is one of Shelby County's premiere entertainment facilities. Narrow fairways, exceptional placement of water and hazards. Fun and challenging for all skill levels.

  • Shelby County Museum and Archives

    Housed in old courthouse (built 1854). Extensive collection of artifacts and research materials, including original county courthouse records. Operated by Shelby County Historical Society.
