Vendors along Main St. for the afternoon and the appearance of Santa Claus at the end of this annual day of holiday fun make the event a great way to start the season. Marching band, floats constructed by community organizations, and civic officials welcoming citizens are features of the parade. Following the parade children are invited to meet Santa for a photo with him at First Baptist Church in Montevallo.
