The event "Conecuh People…the Experience" is centerpieced with the play "Conecuh People," an original theatrical production that tells the poignant story of a boy's adolescence and two events—one good and one bad—that shaped his life. Also included in "the Experience" are a quilt exhibit in the town's beautiful old churches, a tour of Pauly Jail (c. 1897), an exhibition by local artists, self-guided tours of historical buildings and sites, a seated dinner before each evening performance, a dessert reception following the Sunday matinee, and overnight accommodations.
