Tuskegee Main Street Development Foundation presents a fundraiser like no other, as it tells a story about the City while raising capital to save its historic properties. On November 13-14, 2009 we are presenting Tuskegee Alabama in a way like never before! We invite anyone we can reach to come and experience the lifestyle, culture, and of course our rich stories. The reason for the invitation is to generate a newfound excitement for this historic City. On November 14th the visitors are allowed to tour the historic and unique homes and buildings that are being opened by private owners for viewing. In addition to visiting these private spaces the citizens are providing an exciting day of adventure from fun events on the town square, an exciting game with historic characters being portrayed about town, to activities provided by our local museums and special seminars held in public facilities. There will also be realtor open houses galore, just in case you catch the Tuskegee fever and want to consider purchasing one of our affordable treasures. This eventful day is preceded the night before by a huge hospitality party with a silent auction of local artifacts. There’s no telling what will be on the auction block with so much historic and artistic flavor emanating from this brimming pool of talent. New and old artwork, antiques, letters, articles, jewelry, coins, small furnishings, and unusual finds we’re sure. Consider making plans to spend the weekend in our fair community. Our major governmental and civic agencies along with the citizens of Tuskegee and Macon County have come together to show our hospitality whether you are considering spending one day or a lifetime.
