Franklin County Watermelon Festival

The residents and families in Franklin County take ownership and great pride in the Watermelon Festival. We look forward to hosting our neighbors, friends and visitors for our 30th Annual Franklin County Watermelon Festival August 20 and 21, 2010. Along with a weekend full of entertainment, vendors from states throughout the Southeast offer a wide variety of unique items and food. This festival is a celebration; a time for families and friends to gather and eat, play and have fun. We offer a wide variety of activities to enjoy: Watermelon contests, car/truck/motorcycle show, antique tractor show, rides & games for kids, 5K/1K Run, Kiwanis Bike Ride, arts & crafts and fabulous food. Did I mention FREE WATERMELON? Local entertainment is also featured at the historic ROXY Theatre throughout the day. This entertainment is in an air-conditioned venue to give everyone a little break from the heat. The weekend is jammed-packed and offers something fun for all ages.
