Montevallo Walking Tours-June 2009

June 6 Montevallo Main Street Join two friends as they remember the 1940’s and 1950’s in their hometown. One is an artist and will have a souvenir map for tour participants. June 13 A Garden, a Mural and an Ice Cream Cone Kelly Wacker, University of Montevallo art historian, shows off her historic home’s garden, teaches a lesson about the Montevallo Post Office mural, and makes a stop at an old time ice cream shop called “The Dish and the Spoon.” June 20 Three Historic Churches Guides will welcome visitors to Montevallo First United Methodist Church, Montevallo Presbyterian Church, and Montevallo First Baptist Church. June 27 Calkins, Palmer, Bloch, and King: When they were people, instead of buildings This is a look at the historic University of Montevallo campus and will include the quad and King House lawn.
