First United Methodist Church

Historic Site

Organized in 1833, the church was constructed of Georgia white marble. There is a beautiful stained glass dome over sanctuary. President Franklin D. Roosevelt sat in 3rd row for funeral of Speaker of the House Willaim Brockman Bankhead in 1940. Visitors are welcome.
