A return to Montgomery's agricultural roots, Hampstead Institute manages two urgan farms, both of which are classrooms for youth and adult education prgrams focused on growing and eating healthy. Hampstead Farms, acommunity farm embedded in the heart of Hampstead, produces more than 30 varieties of fruits and vegetables that supply local restaurants with a Community Supported Agriculture progrm with fresh, seasonal produce. Hampstead Institute Downtown Farm, located in the heart of downtown Montgomery along the Alabama River, growns, harvest and sells produce and serves as a vibrant gathering palce for the community. The Institute offers several events throughout the year, including Eco Week, James Farmer Garden Dinner and Fundraiser, Outstanding in the Field Farm Dinner at hampstead Farms and the Farm-to-Fork Food Invasion Festival.
