Joe Davis Stadium was built in 1985 to host the Southern League Huntsville Stars, and has seen many great players come through such as Jose Canseco, Mark McGwire, Jason Giambi, Michael Jordan, Bo Jackson, Tim Hudson, Ben Sheets, Frank Thomas, Dontrelle Willis, Miguel Tejada, Terry Steinbach, Scott Brosius, Alex Rodriguez, Tom Glavine, Chipper Jones, Andruw Jones, Jeff Francoeur, Kerry Wood, Prince Fielder, Rickie Weeks, Carlos Delgado, and Mark Prior. The stadium is is also the home for the UAH Chargers baseball team and is also used for various high school baseball tournaments throughout the season. The stadium seats 10,200 with 15 air-conditioned skyboxes. Ticket offices and general office are located on the second floor of the stadium. Two giant Tri-Visions in the shape of stars give the outfield a unique look along with a new state of the art scoreboard and videoboard. Huntsville's famous Billy Ray's grill located on the third base concourse has been a fan favorite for years. "The Joe," as it is affectionately called, has played host to three Southern League champions and six divisional champions.
