The mission of Stepping STis to enrich education for children by introducing young people to the experience of flight in an exciting hands-on program. Children are able to climb into our realistic airplane simulators, pedal down our authentic colorful runway and taxi into a controlled airspace. During the training session, our student pilots begin to learn airport terminologies and procedures as well as preflight inspections and communications protocol. Upon completion of their first successful flight, each child receives a Certificate of Achievement with the Stepping Stones logo that they can proudly display. Stepping Stones to Aviation offers this airport simulation program for children ages preschool to 3rd Grade. This hands-on program brings children and their parents together to learn and have fun in a non threatening environment. In working with young people across the country it has become evident that parents and children need a common interest in order to keep the learning experience alive. What better way to use it than to introduce them to aviation at an early age where child and parent can learn and experience the exciting industry of aviation and what it has to offer them!
