A number if Apache POWs who died during their internment at the Mt. Vernon Barracks are buried in the National Cemetery portion of Magnolia Cemetery. Geronimo's son, Chappo Geronimo, died of tuberculosis at the Carlisle Indian School in Pennsylvania, and is also buried here.
