Historic Shirley Place Museum and Gardens
Northport | Tuscaloosa County
A raised cottage of Federal and Greek Revival detailing, Shirley Place was built of handmade brick in 1838 by James Shirley, a town surveyor for early Northport. Honored by the US Interior Department as a National Register listing of Historic Places, Shirley Place is featured annually during the Northport Christmas celebration 'Dickens Downtown' and in a variety of ways by the Friends of Historic Northport organization. It is governed by an Advisory Board and is available for public rental. It is an ideal setting for social events.
