Pea River

Poor Fair Good Excellent Extraordinary
The Pea River offers great outdoor fun for groups and families with lots of beginners. During decent flow times, the river is relatively fast, making for easy paddling. Anyone who has paddled a canoe containing a cooler and a five-year-old child knows that it is no easy task unless you get some help from the flow of the water itself. In addition, there are numerous sandy beaches along the route where your bunch can disembark to frolic or grab a packed lunch. Please always remember to leave the site looking better than when you arrived.

You'll be enamored along the way of the beauty of the pea-green water, and the vast amount of both flora and fauna.

Every April, the city of Geneva holds its Festival On The Rivers, a celebration dedicated to the Pea and Choctawhatchee rivers. Years past have featured fun contests like the greasy pole climb, sculling, canoe races, coin scramble, and worm fiddling. Contact the Geneva Chamber of Commerce at (334) 684-6582 for more information.
