Poor Fair Good Excellent Extraordinary
This 21,000 acres nature preserve has a 16.4 mile horse trail that meanders off the mountain down into a valley through some rock outcroppings that add to the scenic beauty. Walls of Jericho has been called the “Grand Canyon of the South” and is part of the Forever Wild Land Trust. Round trip takes about 6 – 7 hours including the trip to the “Wall”. There is an abundance of forest trails, mountains and logging roads that make for a very scenic trail ride. The moderate climate in the states makes spring and fall the better times for this activity. The trail and walk to the Walls of Jericho is well worth the time because you can see many migratory songbirds, non-migratory birds, unique flowers and trees as well as 200-foot tall cliffs and breathtaking waterfalls.
