North Alabama's premier performing arts organization since 1954, the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra is the oldest continuously-operating professional symphony orchestra in the state. Led by its dynamic and charismatic Music Director Carlos Miguel Prieto, the HSO presents a diverse offering of musical events, including great classical masterworks, entertaining Pops programs and a series of intimate concerts that focus on Mozart and other masters. The HSO's education programs touch the lives of over ten thousand of children each year, with free Young People's concerts, musicians in the schools and elementary instrumental instruction in four North Alabama school districts.
