Wiregrass Youth Symphony Orchestra

The Wiregrass Youth Symphony Orchestra is a group made up of students ages 8-18 from the Wiregrass Area with at least 1 year of instruction in violin, viola, cello or bass. The program was founded in 2004 by the Tri-State Community Orchestra in cooperation with the Cultural Arts Center in Dothan as the area's first organized youth string program. The youth perform 4-6 free concerts and guest appearances annually A sister organization, the Wiregrass Strings, offers instruction to beginners to train future participants in the WYSO program.
