Macbeth When three witches prophesize that war hero Macbeth is destined to become the king of Scotland, he begins to believe his own publicity. Encouraged by his equally power obsessed wife, Macbeth murders his way to the top and finds that to stay there requires endless acts of treachery, deceit and bloodshed.
