What to See & Do

Sixth Annual Evening of Dance

January 11, 2013 to January 12, 2013

Merrimack Hall is proud to present our 6th Annual Evening of Dance, a weekend of dance events showcasing performance and choreography talent from across the Southeast. The Evening of Dance was created in 2007 and each year local dance studios are invited to participate in this celebration of dance, including public performances and master classes with high-caliber visiting artists. Past guest artists have included Wade Robson, Sabra Johnson, Tyce Diorio, Andre Fuentes, Nick Gonzalez and more. In addition to visiting artists, each year Merrimack Hall commissions a choreographer to audition dancers and set an original piece of choreography. These dancers have only three rehearsals and perform the piece live onstage during the Evening of Dance. Several awards and scholarships are given to emerging choreographers, or dancers who have gone above and beyond to excel in the weekend's master classes. The event also includes performances from all students in the Dance Your Dreams! and Project UP programs for individuals with special needs. All proceeds from this weekend of events benefit the Johnny Stallings Arts Program.
