Straddled: Selections from the Permanent Collection

The Sarah Moody Gallery of Art features works from its permanent collection, devoted to modern and contemporary art. The Sarah Moody Gallery of Art Permanent Collection was initiated in the late 1960s, conceived with an emphasis on modern and contemporary art. Much of the collection is devoted to photography and works on paper. In recent years painting and sculpture have expanded the reach of the collection. Internationally known artists represented in the collection include Ida Applebroog, Robert Rauschenberg, Sally Mann, Elizabeth Murray, Carrie Mae Weems, Wassily Kandinsky, Thornton Willis. The Sarah Moody Gallery of Art is supported by the College of Arts and Sciences and the Department of Art and Art History. Hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 - 4:30 PM and Thursday evenings 5-8 PM. We are located at 103 Garland Hall in the heart of the UA campus on Woods Quad. There is no admission charge.
