The JSU Field Schools will partner with groups (such as National Park Service, US Forest Service, Alabama State Parks and others) to offer diverse moderate-level hikes "from the deepest canyon to the highest mountain" each second Saturday of the month. There will be a hike offered each month on a portion of the Pinhoti Trail...over 12 months participants can have hiked the entire Pinhoti with the Anniston Outdoors Association! Date: Second Saturday each month; January 12, 2013 Where: Locations vary; may include Little River Canyon National Preserve, DeSoto State Park, Talladega National Forest, Dugger Mountain Wilderness, Mountain Longleaf National Wildlife Refuge, Cheaha State Park, or other locations (Call 256-782-8010 for specific locations and meeting place) Time: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm (may vary depending upon length of hike) Fee: $0-$5 per person; pre-registration required 10 days prior to hike date
