Oyster Lovers and Seafood Lovers do not miss the Annual Gulf Coast Oyster & Seafood Festival. People from around the world attend this event.
This festival is so huge that it will take place in two cities in two separate weekends.
October 1st - 4th, 2009 in Perdido Keys & the Orange Beach Area next to the Flora Bama
September 24th - 27th, 2009 in Bayou La Batre, AL

available for the Oyster Lover. Plus there will be seafood for everyone.
The Gulf Coast Oyster & Seafood Festival is excited to announce the largest and only event celebrating and promoting the Gulf Coast Oyster. The Gulf Coast Oyster Festival is planned for October 2nd, 3rd & 4th, 2009 in the perdido Keys & Orange Beach Area.
The Gulf Coast Oyster Festival is a four day festival that prides itself in offering non imported, local & fresh seafood vendors.
The festival features live music on all four days, plus art vendors, craftsmen, beer vendors, kids area, fresh seafood, oyster eating contests, home brewing demonstrations and an assortment of food from a variety of regions.
This year's festival is executed as the biggest and best Oyster festival within a five state region (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana).Combining great food, great music and life moments, the Gulf Coast Oyster Festival is a must attend event.
The entertainment stage offers a diverse mix of musical genres and regional acts from country, to bluegrass. Additionally, the festival offers fun contests which include, a sing off, an oyster shucking contest, a recipe cook off and of course, an oyster eating challenge.
The festival layout features three tents that include an “Oyster Education Tent” hosted by the Auburn University extension program.
The educational tent highlights and presents oyster facts to attendees. The second tent is a Brew Fest tent that is provided by the beer sponsor and will feature local brews & beers, home brew workshops and taste areas. The final tent is a kids area that features children activities. The kids tent is open from 10a - 5pm each day of the festival.
The artisan & craftsman area will feature a mix of artists, organizations and businesses. The main area is comprised of food vendors which will serve delicious oysters, shell fish, seafood and traditional festival treats for attendees to try.
There will be something for everyone to enjoy.
