A Weekend Near the Water with All You'll Need for Your Next Getaway

May 2020

You’ve decided you deserve a weekend getaway, and we completely agree with you. Although 48 hours isn’t enough to fully experience all the things to do in Alabama's beaches, we dare you to give it your best shot.

Whether you’re interested in enjoying some fun-in-the-sun on the sugar-white sands, hiking and biking through the winding trails or lodging places that you’ll never want to leave, our Alabama beaches have everything you need for the perfect weekend getaway.

Where to Stay

From beach houses, to condos to bed and breakfasts, there are plenty of places to wind down after a day of fun and adventure. Resting along the Gulf coast, the eco-friendly Lodge at Gulf State Park boasts 28 miles of trails, a freshwater fishing lake, an infinity pool facing the coast and two signature waterfront dining locations.

Leave the stress of life behind at Turquoise Place, centrally-located along the beach. With a lazy river, a poolside bar, outside games and gulf front cabanas, you have everything you need to spend the day outdoors.

To escape from the hectic pace of everyday life, relax, and immerse in luxury, book a stay at Magnolia Springs Bed and Breakfast, a historic Alabama bed and breakfast. Located just minutes from multiple coastal towns, this charming bed and breakfast is a world away, and yet in the middle of everything.

Where to Hike

Seven trails make up more than 15 miles of the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail complex which runs through Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, Alabama and the Gulf State Park. All skill levels are welcome to enjoy the beautiful surroundings throughout the seven trails including a very diverse ecosystem full of flora and fauna. Armadillos, raccoons, coyotes, otters, foxes, wild boar and American alligators can be seen from the trails, just don’t get too close! Visitors should enjoy wildlife from afar. Along the trails you can get up close and personal inside the butterfly garden and pavilion which are available to take in a relaxing picnic or a brush with a four-winged friend.
