It’s the most wonderful time of the year! This holiday season, support local artists throughout our state. Here are a few places to get you started.

Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment

Huntsville

At Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment, visitors will find a variety of visual art forms from drawing and painting to textiles, jewelry, pottery, and more. At this facility, studio spaces line the hallways allowing visitors the chance to openly explore the Mill and artist spaces where they can shop and learn about the artists and their works. In addition to its campus located in Huntsville, Alabama, the center also has an online gallery where you can shop some of the latest works of art.

Kentuck Art Center

Northport

For 49 years, the Kentuck Art Center has showcased the work of up-and-coming artists, many of which are located right here in Alabama. The center has a variety of locally-made products including jewelry, ornaments, pottery, paintings, kitchenware and more. Many of the products, made by Alabama artists, are marked with a “Made in Alabama” tag on its website. Check out the center's 2020 gift guide for some of their favorite products.

Alabama Goods is a locally-owned retail store that specializes in products made in Alabama. With locations in Huntsville and Homewood, you can find wonderful products made from local artisans, craftsmen and food makers. The store features perfect gift options including bath products, clothing and accessories, gourmet food, pottery, kitchen products, gift baskets and yes, even Alabama-shaped products. 

Black Belt Treasures Cultural Arts Center

Camden

At Black Belt Treasures, every single item is hand crafted or created by artisans located in one of the 19 counties that make up the Alabama Black Belt Region. Black Belt Treasures represents over 400 artists including talented painters, sculptors, potters, basket weavers, quilters, woodworkers and even food makers. The center offers a wide variety of options including hand-woven baskets, sculpture, folk art, food, woodwork, fibers and textiles, and more. With so many options, you can shop knowing you will find something for everyone on your Christmas list.
