June 2022
Temperatures in the summertime can be sweltering in Alabama. When those temps soar, Alabama has many ways to beat that summer heat! Here are five ways to cool off:
Point Mallard Park
Decatur
Located in Decatur, Alabama’s River City, Point Mallard Park is home to America’s first wave pool. Located in the Point Mallard Aquatic Center, this 180-foot wave-making pool gives visitors a thrill ride. Visitors also will find a Pro Bowl Slide, Towering Sky Pond and Speed Slide, Lazy River, three Flume Tube Rides, an Olympic Pool, Sandy Beach, a scenic lagoon and a children’s area featuring the Squirt Factory & Duck Pond.
Red Bay Water Park
