Fred the Town Dog's Grave

Final resting place of Rockford's beloved "Town Dog." Fred was adopted as mascot in 1993 when he strayed into town and won the hearts of the residents. He became best known for "writing" a regular column in the Coosa County News and later appeared on TV's Animal Planet. Fred died in 2002 and was inducted into the Alabama Animal Hall of Fame in 2004. He is buried behind the Old Rock Jail. People from around the country stop in to pay their respects.
