Pope's Tavern and Museum

Once a stagecoach stop, tavern and inn used as a hospital by Confederate and Union forces during Civil War, the museum upstairs now houses an extensive collection of Civil War artifacts. The lower floor of the building is furnished with vintage antiques. The Museum focuses on telling the early history of Florence, Alabama, from roughly 1818 through 1870. The building was constructed in the 1830's.
