Annual Catfish Festival – The festival occurs each year on the third Saturday in May. This year the festival will celebrate its 20th anniversary on May 15th at County Park in Scottsboro. Held along the banks of Lake Guntersville in Scottsboro, the annual Catfish Festival celebrates one of America's favorite outdoor activities - fishing for catfish.. Recognized by Bon Appetit Appalachia as a great hometown family food & fun festival that includes fried catfish plates, arts & crafts show, Car, Truck, Motorcycle, Tractor Show, Concerts, Concessions, and a free kids area offering inflatables. Festival goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy the live entertainment, including gospel singing. Beginning at 11 a.m., the Shriner's will be selling catfish dinners. Pets are welcome to join in on the festivities. A pet parade and costume contest is set for 12 p.m. For more information, call Susan Carlile at 256-259-1503
