October 10th, 2025 - December 4th, 20259:00am - 3:00pm Monday-FridayBirmingham
Aziz examines ideas of time, productivity, and distraction through layered references to popular culture, advertising, and capitalism, while also addressing difficult histories that continue to shape American life. DesChene reflects the Métis Nation’s cultural resurgence through paintings and sound sculptures that merge Indigenous imagery with Eurocentric traditions to explore land, memory, and identity.
The opening reception will be held Friday, October 10, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm, with an artist panel moderated by Jennifer McCohnell at 6:00 pm. A community mural painting led by DesChene will take place from 4:00 to 5:00 pm in recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, and all community members are invited to participate.
Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and by appointment. Admission is free and open to the public.
