Living History Crew Drill
Aug 13th 20228:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.Mobile
See history come to life when members of the USS ALABAMA and USS DRUM Living History Crews come for their weekend drill. These historical reenactors demonstrate what life was like aboard our historic vessel during WWII. Dressed in period appropriate uniforms, these men and women tell the stories of the original crewmen who served aboard the USS ALABAMA and USS DRUM. Among the activities you will see are the raising of the Colors at 8:00 a.m., weaponry overviews, emergency drills, and the popular call to battle stations at 1:00 p.m. Vintage airplanes attack the ship and the reenactors defend her in this drill. The crew will fire the ship’s 40mm and 20mm guns, fending off the air raid. In Radio Central, amateur radio operators broadcast live. It’s always a great weekend to be at the park.
